SteelQEC 2027 is a three-day workshop on practical quantum error correction, held at The Edge, Endcliffe, University of Sheffield, on 8–10 March 2027. Its theme is Advancing Methods for Practical Quantum Error Correction and Quantum Error Mitigation: approaches that connect directly to implementation constraints and near-term design decisions, along with benchmarking, resource estimation and related practical questions.
The PrefixQEC series
SteelQEC is the second workshop in the PrefixQEC series, where each edition is named after its host city. The series began with TartanQEC in Edinburgh in June 2026; SteelQEC takes it to Sheffield, the Steel City. The previous events page has more on the series.
